This has been in my queue even though I'm not sure I'll ever watch it. As someone who is/was/not sure these days a fan of Spider-Man and collected the comics in the 80's and 90's, I can tell you that this version of Madam Web is not comic accurate. She's an old lady. A fortune teller that sits in a web. So this movie being able to pull in comics fans even, was a bad gamble.

I'm convinced it's the writers room these days. In generations past, the writers were 30 and up (mostly up) and had a level of life experience that the twenty-somethings are clueless about. That's why the bulk of storytelling in movies and TV is so threadbare.

And now I'm fearful you will try and shatter my enjoyment of the masterpiece that is "Under the Skin". Though, I haven't found one single person outside of myself, that thinks the movie is good. What can I say, I like those fucked movies that delve into the strange.

I like "Under the Skin" very much! Rest easy. And I think the bulk of mainstream storytelling has *always been* threadbare, we just forget the bad stuff over time until it seems like everything was better years ago, but it's only because we only remember the better stuff.
