Speaking as a grandfather in the age of “screens,” I can assure you puppet shows are still a thing.
As a side note, when I was a child The Sound of Music was used as punishment against me (or, I suppose, as a wholesome corrective to my generally unwholesome behavior). Because of this, it is both high on my list of Beloved Films Bill Despises With Every Fiber of His Being (list also includes E.T.) and also triggers a powerful fight or flight reaction in me. Even just reading about this accursed film gave me an anxiety attack. Thanks, Jeff.
