Wonderful observations--I like both: The implications of creating new, part-time personalities, and 'Mystery Box' aspects of the show, at least in Season 1. I'm proud to say I bailed on Lost after two seasons after I started feeling that the writers themselves had no idea how they were going to wrap up all the weird stuff they'd been throwing at us. Unfortunately, I stuck to both The Watcher and True Detective: Night Country to their bitter ends. I'll never get those many hours back!
