Love this in so many ways. Love the subtle comparison to other 90s tropes, Mean Girls and 10 Things I Hate About You. Well done.
Dazed and Confused remains one of my favorite films due to its day in a life view. It’s more in line with what high school really is or was in middle America. All lines are blurred.
I expect our experiences were similar. You didn’t by chance keep a hardback copy of Dante’s Inferno to throw at idiots who dared disturb your reading/writing when you were skipping class and hiding behind the gym? Just me?
The only more real vision of high school for me was sung through my thick headphones by Geddy Lee of Rush

“Growing up, it all seems so one-sided.
Opinions all provided
The future pre-decided
Detached and subdivided
In the mass production zone
Nowhere is the dreamer
Or the misfit so alone”
Loved this post. Thanks for doing these, Jeff
